A four day fun filled program in bluegrass music instruction that is taught by our talented and dedicated staff who relate well with children of all ability and experience levels. Our very successful Kids Academy will now be offered at every August festival, and will remain strictly a school age Kids Academy. Students commit to our four day program that starts Thursday evening and ends with a short Sunday performance on the main stage.

Gettysburg Bluegrass Academy for Kids, is a relaxed but very informative four day music program for children in grades K thourgh 12. Instruction on how to play, sing and perform bluegrass music will be the focus. Former national banjo champion Ira Gitlin will be this years music director leading out talented and dedicated staff in teaching fiddle, banjo, guitar, mandolin and acoustic bass. Students must bring their own instruments to participate and commit to our four day program culminating in an optional main stage performance on Sunday! Each student receives all course materials, plus a free Academy T shirt if signed up in advance by August 1. Space in each instrument class is strictly limited, so register early to be sure of your child's seat!
