The Gettysburg Bluegrass Festival is an internationally-acclaimed multi-day music festival held every May and August at Granite Hill Camping Resort.

The Festival typically presents as many as two dozen different traditional and contemporary bluegrass artists during the course of the four day event. Often New Grass, Old Tyme, Americana, and Singer/Songwriter performances will be sprinkled in here and there but the majority of the bands are firmly in the bluegrass camp. Most artists will perform on the brand new Timber Frame Main Stage. The Workshop Stage schedule focuses on a wide variety of informative and instructional presentations, although performances, band showcases, meet & greets, and jam sessions are also presented on the Workshop Stage. In addition, the All Star Jam held every Friday at around 5PM is conducted here. As you can see, there is a tremendous amount of entertainment on offer during The Festival and that is just the music!

The Festival boasts a wide array of merchandise, music, arts & crafts, and food vendors positioned in the areas surrounding the Main Stage. We have worked to present a variety of food types for your enjoyment as well as a diverse selection of merchandise to browse. Shopping Vendor Row can be a welcome diversion. And our Camp Store is fully stocked with all sorts of soft goods, food, and camping supplies to get you through the day or the weekend. Of Course, The Gettysburg Bluegrass Boutique is the one stop you cannot miss if you wish to procure official festival logo gear and merchandise. Much to see and do when taking a break from the music!

Granite Hill Camping Resort has been the host facility for The Festival since the very beginning in 1979. A lot has changed over the 35 years of Bluegrass at Granite Hill but the family-oriented atmosphere remains a staple of The Festival and the overall camping experience. Granite Hill boasts over 300 hook-up sites and 100 designated primitive sites as well as a large overflow area for dry camping when things start to fill in. There are modern facilities and amenities throughout the park which enables us to handle even the largest and most demanding camping units. In addition to the camping facilities, Granite Hill also boasts an elaborate Adventure Golf Course and the newly redesigned Red Shed Café as well as a WiFi hotspots, a swimming pool, multiple playgrounds, a game room, two catch-and-release fishing ponds, boat rentals, horseshoe pits, a tennis court and lots of open space for taking a walk or playing with the kids. While you do not have to camp to attend The Festival and enjoy all of the wonderful services and amenities the Granite Hill has to offer, it sure makes things nice. Many of our festival campers often have experiences listening to music, meeting artists and fellow fans, and jamming late night around the campfire that build friendships to last a lifetime. These experiences keep folks coming back festival after festival and year after year to enjoy the music and catch up with old friends.

As mentioned, you do not have to camp to attend the festival. In fact, as many folks who attend The Festival do not camp as those who do. If you choose not to stay at Granite Hill there are number of accommodation options within easy driving distance of the venue. Whether you stay at a B&B, hotel, motel, with friends or live locally you can take advantage of our free day-parking lots and make the short walk to the concert area. We welcome you to bring your chairs, blankets, and coolers but we do not allow glass and reserve the right to inspect any containers brought to the venue. While we welcome motorcycles in our day parking lot, due to the proximity of our roads to the stages and audience area, we do not permit motorcycles in the campground during The Festival. We do permit small dog breeds under 30 lbs. However, they are restricted to RV campsites and designated dog walk areas. No dogs anywhere else during festival week. No dogs over 30 pounds permitted anywhere on premises during festival week, including rough camping areas, playgrounds, any common area, and the day lot.
